Description
Horizon 2020 pillar: Societal Challenges
Social Lab 9 “Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy” connects stakeholders from research, research funding and civil society from 14 different European countries. Collectively, the group develops pilot activities addressing the implementation of RRI in the field of Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy targeting awareness raising of RRI, NCP consultation and RRI progress in science and society.

Pilot actions
Pilot Action 1: NCP Trainings
This pilot organises an RRI training for the ENERGY NCPs. The pilot’s goal is that all European NCPs have acommon understanding of RRI in their field and can further give trainings on how to implement RRI in the proposal writing and in projects. To reach this goal, one training workshop is planned for ENERGY NCPs.
Pilot Action 2: RRI Living Lab
The goal of this pilot is to make RRI progress in science and society. The group wants to foster learning between living labs and to work with practice examples to foster mutual learning processes. The pilot aims at bridging the gap between theory and practice. Therefore they are surveying living lab on the RRI approach and organise a common workshop to foster mutual exchange.
Pilot Action 3: Renewable Energy Knowhere
This pilot action seeks to create a one-stop-shop knowledge base for sustainable energy use for multiple stakeholders (the researcher can find topics to research, the student can find universities, those who’s seeking for partners can find partners to their projects and so on, tenants can find information on how to make their housing more energy efficient). Therefore a common spreadsheet covering multiple renewable energy topics has been set up covering the working countries from all SL participants. A thereby generated initial knowledge base is then transformed into a webpage, that aims at beeing openly accessible, extentable and hence at sustaining beyond the project’s lifetime.
