Science for Change, Spain
Blanca Guasch is Co-Design Strategic Officer at Science for Change, where she applies Design Thinking methodologies to Citizen Science and Science Communication projects. She is highly involved in Public Engagement with Science (PES) actions and events, and she is actively contributing in the European-funded projects: Cos4Cloud, NEWSERA, TRANSFORM, D-NOSES, ENJOI, STEP CHANGE and HOOP.
In 2013 she graduated in Industrial Design Engineering at Elisava, specializing in Product Engineering. She won the “Ei!” Award to the best academic record of the university and this allowed her to study the Master’s Degree in Design and Communication at Elisava, specializing in Art Direction. In 2020 she obtained her PhD in Science Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), being part of the Scientific Communication Research Group at UPF and the Elisava Smart & Advanced Materials Research Group. She has worked as a Product Designer at Benedito Design, Graphic Designer and Head of the Design Department at Different Market Strategy, and Materials Specialist and Communicator at MaterFAD. She has also been the author of educational resources for the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), professor of the Materials area at Elisava (imparting subjects such as Materials Physics and Advanced Materials, among others) and Head of the Materials area.
She currently works at Science for Change, where she plays a cross-cutting role in all of the company’s projects, performing tasks of co-creation and co-design, visual identity, design thinking, strategy, data visualisation, and communication.
