Social Lab 2 – Workshop 1

Date: 24-25 May 2018

Place: Tromsø, Norway

Participants

The group consisted of seventeen participants from eleven European countries representing multiple fields of work.

Description

The aim of the workshop was to set a common understanding of RRI, to discuss it and to start working on pilot actions.

Participants were really positive and enthusiastic. Some appreciated not being given information on RRI in advance (having a blank slate); others wanted a bit more information before arriving.
People especially appreciated the diversity of perspectives in the room.

One of the participants reported:
“I learned that responsible is a matter of context and perspective. There is no absolute. This makes it very difficult to address and tackle it. As someone mentioned, there needs to be a consensus on a larger vision – a dot on the horizon. Then we can reverse engineer how to get there.”
