Social Lab 6 – Workshop 2

This workshop brought together 10 participants representing several fields such as: 2 representatives from R&I community; 2 policy makers; 2 representatives of the education system and 4 representatives of the business sector.
They came from 5 European countries, namely the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Denmark and Czech Republic.

The second SL 6 workshop focused on developing and revitalizing Pilot Actions of the NewHoRRIzon project. After the introduction of the hosting institution (Tecnalia) and the presentation of Spanish R&I funding system, there was a presentation of NH project, its position in Horizon2020, its prospects in Horizon Europe and of its Pilot Actions. The presentations were followed by a discussion about some problems which the NH project and its main tool – the Social Labs – face.

The rest of the first day was focused on the presentation of the Pilot Actions of our Social Lab. Their framing and their relationship to responsible research and innovation (RRI) was discussed among participants. The solvers of the Pilot Actions than presented their group’s conclusions which were then analysed in a final discussion. The first day ended with a debate about the concrete implementation of RRI in small and medium enterprises.

The second day was opened by a short reflection of the first day and then participants worked on preparing and presenting a concrete plan to implement the conclusions debated at the end of the first day.

Afterwards, the concept of RRI Ambassadors was presented to the group and several participants expressed their interest in taking part in such a programme.

This workshop ended with a final evaluation and an outlook for the final Social Lab where the results of the Pilot Actions will be presented and evaluated.
